Glorious Saturday

Got up. Hiked the Y while David played football with some guys from work.
For breakfast we indulged in blue BYU pancakes and watched the Homecoming Parade from our front yard.
Then David took me to the Provo farmer’s market and Macey’s to get our pumpkins, hay bail, and corn stalks. Can you hear the purring?
Now, we are at home making caramel apples and watching football.
I am so happy.

Soundtrack: Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong “For Lovers”

Spiders and such.

Halloween decorations are up!!!!David was VERY patient as we spent 30 mins suspending the giant spiders this morning. Now, we still need pumpkins, hay bail, and corn stalks….Just remember you love me, Honey.
There is snow on the Y and Timp. I took this as a cue to go shopping for boots.
I am making my first pumpkin pie of the season. The house smells heavenly.

It’s cloudy

I like cloudy weather. I wallow in the melancholy. I find I talk to myself even more than usual. I complete the motions of the day with only one goal in mind–to be at home on the couch, cuddled up in the corner with my alpaca blanket drinking cider and reading. Occasionally I look up from the pages and watch the leaves or I pretend the electric fireplace still works and I can watch the flames. Is there anything more mesmerizing than flames? I remember my grandpa staying up till 1 or 2 in the morning watching the camp fire. I miss him terribly.

I still don’t have the front of the house decorated for Halloween. It is killing me. David has been super busy and wants me to wait for him. I don’t know what it is with me and Halloween–after all, I get scared even during commercials on regular basis. Hmmm. I bought the biggest and baddest web and a new giant spider. My vision is to have the front door wrapped in the web with 3 spiders guarding it. I hope David won’t go on any business trips this fall. When he got sent out 2 years ago, I used the back door to get into the house after dark. I am telling you…I am a scaredy cat.
