Minutes later…

Just got home with our new Blendtec.
Am sitting on the couch hypnotizing the box on the kitchen counter.
David wants me to wait for him to get home.
The box is taunting me like gifts under a Christmas tree.
This is a huge crisis.
What am I going to do?
Am in urgent need of distraction.
An entire bag of veggies to pulverize is making the situation worse.
hmmmmmmmmmmm.
Plan:
1. bite nails.
2. put phone in a drawer to prevent obsessive calls to David to come home.
3. put blanket over box.
4. watch trailer for Fight Club.
5. shove veggie bag into fridge.
6. go organize socks.
Sounds very reasonable.
Yours at her insanity best,
Sandy
I was so busy changing all the clocks in the house this morning that I did not even notice the snow on the ground! Oh, my.
The mountains have gotten snow number of times already but never below the Y.
I am not ready for this yet.
Hmmmmm.
David and I were looking at gloves today at Costco. They were lightweight and perfect for hiking which is what caught my attention. They were sewn out of special fabric that makes it possible for the wearer to operate touch screen devices…which is what caught David’s attention.
Still, even I could appreciate this magic and immediately shared it with a group of strangers standing next to us. Well, it turns out it was Tom Dickson and his family. I did not recognize him but David, of course, did. The “Will It Blend?” guru is very nice. We chatted for about 15 mins about the blender business, cars, and the Czech Republic (he is going there in 2 weeks).
I told him I was looking into buying a new blender for Christmas but have not decided between BlendTec and Vitamix. He then gave me his business card and told me to call him next week and he’ll get me a blender.
Am very excited. He is seriously an extremely pleasant man.
Other news…
Halloween decorations are down. He house looks so empty and sad. I did put up Thanksgiving decor but how can a pilgrim compare to a giant spider or an Indian to an owl? Waaaaah.
Also reorganized the pantry–have now all grains and supplies in big glass jars. Very cute.
Well, gotta get dinner ready before the game LSU v. Alabama.
Loves,
Sandy
I am losing my mind. Actually there is a chance I lost it already.
Yesterday I lost my Costco card. Today I locked my keys and my phone in my car at the Y trail parking lot. Cant wait for tomorrow’s nadir.
The loss of my beloved Costco card is a real crisis. I can totally relate to Joseph Smith losing the manuscripts. I mean I really need to buy frozen chicken breasts….what am I to do?????????
Am definitely wearing black today. Waaaaaaaaah.
What else is new?
We got new Android phones. Yes, here I am, dark side! David is thrilled because for the first time since the citrus juicer I am obsessed with something that has wires in it.
Last night we made paper turkeys with the cubs. David made one as well. I put it on the fridge…I might have a maternal instinct after all.
Tomorrow we are taking down Halloween decorations. Am very depressed.
Loves,
Sandy
The house is very quiet. It is cold and dreary outside. The sky is quite dark. I am not hiking the Y today. I am sitting on the couch under the window watching the leaves fall in the garden. They gather in layers and start to encroach on the basement window.
I cant help but be mellow and calm. I lit a pumpkin candle and turned off all lights except for the living room lamp. I am sipping cider. It is magical.
Halloween
David looked fantastic in his costume. The handlebars of his mustache ‘could have raced in Tour de France. I was extremely bitter he did not win best costume and that my meat chili lost to a three-bean chili–it was not a bean dip cook off. Grrrrrrrrr.
Anyway, back to being mellow and calm.
Our evening at home was lovely. We cut out Halloween designs into paper bags, lit them up with candles, and set them all along the driveway. It was just beautiful. We had about 20 trick-or-treaters come. Sadly not all the scouts came.
Finally, we had pizza and watched a murder mystery.
Honey, I love you so very much. You make everything better–including me.
Sandy
